Wah Wah Aung, 19 years old, applies thanka. Thanaka is a paste made from ground bark, it is a distinctive feature of the Myanmar culture and commonly worn to cool the skin and also act as a natural sun cream.  Wah Wah Aung lives in Yin Ywa Village and is a Red Cross Volunteer. Recently when a snake, a common cause of death in the dry zone, bit working in the fields Wah Wah Aung. Being an RCV Wah Wah Aung knew how to respond and she was able to apply even pressure until other RCV\'s in her village arrived. Wah Wah Aung made it to hospital and received anti-venom which saved her life.
