This short film explores the experience of Australian artist Ellie Hannon onboard Schmidt Ocean Institute's 18-day journey to Ashmore Reef. Ms Hannon joined a diverse crew of researchers on board the RV Falkor as it visited one of the most remote marine sanctuaries as part of a scientific expedition off the coast of Western Australia.

The Pond

On a hot summer weekend we all drove the dirt road to the pond.

We set up our tents and brought out our swimmers and towels. Through the days and into the evenings we shared stories and the children made adventure around the sweet water hole.

Aftaab e Badakhshan

In the middle of 2017, filmmaker/photographer Conor Ashleigh, musician Lachlan Dale set out on an epic journey through the Pamir and Badakhshan regions of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The film is a multimedia response to music recorded on the trip.
