A Student’s Secret

In 2021 Western Sydney based not-for-profit organisation SydWest commissioned me to deliver a participatory filmmaking project as part of the Links to Learning Community Grants Program is funded by the NSW Department of Education.

Over an entire term, I worked with a group of high school students who all recently arrived in Australia as refugees and migrants and were studying at an Intensive English Course (IEC). I designed and delivered the project that included one final film and another behind the scenes film. The workshops were also co-facilitated with fellow storyteller Bahram Mia.
