Stories of hep C reinfection

Commissioned by Kirketon Road Centre and funded by INHSUstories of hep C reinfection is a collaborative filmmaking initiative I worked on with a number of members of KRC’s Consumer Participant Group (CPG).

Stories of hep C reinfection created a participatory series of short films that captured personal and relatable hep C reinfection experiences. The project used a deeply participatory process from initial conceptualisation through to the final delivery of the four films.

Stories of hep C reinfection project used a strengths-based approach that placed peers and their valuable lived experience at the centre of all decision making. This ensured that the stories and their production were not just authentic experiences for audiences but also owned by the various peers who led each film as well as the wider CPG group who were engaged as a reference group and production assistants. The short films are now being used as educational resources among community members who may be at risk of hep C reinfection.
